Fur Trade Encampment

  • Ada History Center 7144 Headley Street Southeast Ada, MI, 49301 United States (map)

There was a trading post near the mouth of the Thornapple River 200 years ago. It fostered relationships between the Indigenous community and the incoming European and American fur traders. It’s a fascinating time in our history, brought back to life this September. Come experience the sights and sounds of a fur trading camp and meet family descendants of Ada’s own Rix Robinson.
