Volunteers are our heart and soul and have been since the Society started in the 1970s. Join us!

Ways to become involved…

  • Docenting - welcoming visitors during museum open hours

  • Hosting - volunteering during special events - lectures, classes, school visits, community festivals, and more

  • Event planning - create interest in local history by helping develop a variety of engaging programs and events

  • Research & writing - diving into Ada history through researching, writing for our newsletter, social media, and/or regional publications, and for developing exhibits

  • Gardening - join the group of Master Gardeners who care for the gardens and grounds

  • Collections management - processing, preserving, cataloging, and housing new items to the collections and managing past inventory

  • Communications - working on how we can get the word out through various media

  • Education - developing and hosting a children's program for school group visits

  • Membership development - help grow our membership and welcome new members

  • Community outreach - reach out to local businesses and cross-promote

  • Grant writing - applying for funding as a 501c3 non-profit organization
